One Man's Trash...

We went over to my mom & dad's house last night for family night. We had a lovely evening walk, in this wonderful, spring whether. It was the night before trash day. My parents' next door neighbor is moving soon so he had a rather large pile. Sticking out of a box were several balls, bats and other sports equipment. When we got back from our walk, my kids couldn't resist going over and trash digging. It was a hoot! My three oldest children, Bruce and my dad were all over there digging in this guys trash! The kids kept yelling out things like "Mom, I got a tennis racket!" "Mom, I got a soccer ball!" "Mom a baseball bat!" Embarrassing. Oh well. Bruce did pull out a guitar! It seem just fine, at least from what little I know about them. I've been wanting to learn guitar forever. Now I'll just have to run over to the music store and buy myself a book and teach myself! How cool is that?

I am a garbage collector and think it's good that your kids got to salvage some useable stuff. Always feel bad when we come upon a pile of useable stuff and furniture and wind up having to throw it into the back of the truck...assume you've seen teh garbage truck working...

We had a woman a few days ago who was totally mesmorizing seeing her couch, tv and bags go into the truck as she stood right behind it. She was moving and couldn't take the couch which was less than a month old and didn't expect it to go in with the rest of it.

Less than a month! What a shame.

That's what I said. You ever see the garbage truck work?

Do you mean the smashing, compacting part? I guess that would be something to see a brand new couch get munched

:) That's it...guess you've been near the truck when its been crushing before...you'd be surprised, but we get a lot of people (including women) that stop to watch.

It is pretty neat that the furniture goes right in along with the regular garbage...ever see your old furniture go?

I can't say that I've ever really paid much attention. You must really be into your job! Well, I've got to run. Nice chatting.
