Hairy Water

We had our own bit of flooding on Memorial Day. Here's Ross boating in our backyard.Ross and Mark wanted mo-hawks for summer haircuts. I don't fight them too much over hair. It's only hair. Whatever. Here are the before and afters on Ross (who had the long hair.) The hair on the floor here is just from Ross's head.)

Ross teared up just a little after his hair was gone. He missed his mane.
Here are my futile attempts to keep our house from becoming a huge ball of nasty dog hair. Here is the fur from one combing:

Here is the fur after emptying the vacuum canister and vacuuming up just the main floor. Yuck!

Oh Yeah, I Rock! ;)

5 mile run followed by a 15 mile bike. What this doesn't tell you is that I was the only one in my age division. Totally takes the thunder off of winning your division. However, I looked it up, and I would have won the 35-40 division too. If I were in my 20's (the largest women's age group at this race), I'd have come in 4th. If I were 40-44, I'd have taken 3rd. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this race.

My brother's Todd & Trent also competed, as well as my FIL, Terry. Terry won his division. Trent did just the run portion, but he whooped some hiney! He came in 3rd OVERALL, with a time of 31:05 for 5 miles! Rock on Trent!!

My Week in Pictures

To start off with, here's a taste of how our picture project is going. Here is Lydia's most recent picture (taken today, 5-21-09).and here is the first picture that we took (taken only 3 1/2 months ago on 2-4-09). The difference looks more impressive when you can flip from one to the next, but you can compare where her head is on the vine thing or how much closer she is to that 5 ft marker. I think it's pretty cool anyway.
I spent Sunday and Monday flat sick with a fever of 101-102. Yuck! So anyway, we did family night on Tuesday, and we finally got our garden in. Yay!! The kids wanted to eat their dinner out on the trampoline, but I told them "No." flat out. They've done that before, but every time, I find that someone or rather someones left their dishes outside. Ross got down on his knee, bowed his head, and spread his arms out, in a perfect impression of Gollum, and said "We swears, we swears!" It cracked me up, so I let them eat on the trampoline after all.
Here's Justice with his glow worm. I don't know what it is about that thing, but he loves to sleep with it!
And, here's another classic Justice shot (not taken on the day we put in our garden):

My Week

The week started out with another field trip. This one was Mark's. It had been canceled and rescheduled twice because of the weather, but this time the weather was perfect! We went to a park, took a nature walk, learned all about plants, cooked hot dogs and made s'mores over a fire, played on the playground, and had a good time. Here are a few pics of our adventures (is he not the cutest kid ever?!):

Here are a couple of cute Clayton shots from this week:

Justice had Thursday School graduation last night. He loves Thursday School! I don't know how he's going to make it till it starts again, in the fall. He asks me everyday if he can go to Thursday School.

The teachers asked me to do the slide-show for this year's graduation ceremony. Here it is, if anyone cares to see it. I did not take any of the pictures; I just edited them and put them to the music. (As always, don't forget to turn off the music on the side bar.)

Oh goodness! I was just watching it and I caught another time where I used the same photo twice! DARN! I started working on it one night after everyone had gone to bed, and I ended up working on it till the wee hours. It's a very bad thing to get your brain going after hours like that. I couldn't get back to sleep. I guess that accounts for the mistakes. That and the fact that there were two sets of identical twins in TS this year. How confusing is that? I'll have to be more careful next time. Oh well, I don't think anyone noticed.

Clayton Snacks

My 10 month old has figured out how to get himself a snack anytime he wishes. He does it all the time in fact. I keep my cereal on the bottom shelf in the kitchen. (I got tired of the kids climbing on the counter-top to get at it.) Clayton knows where I keep it, he just goes over to that cabinet, shakes it until it opens, grabs a cereal box, takes out the bag inside and shakes it until he gets some out. How smart is he?! He's totally doing it on purpose.

Lydia's Field Trip and Other Stuff

I went with Lydia's class to the City Museum. I'd never been there before. It's a totally awesome, but insane place. My boys would go absolutely wild there. However, I'd NEVER take anyone under say 7 or 8 years old there. There are a million places to climb, crawl and squeeze through, places that are not big enough for an adult to get through. I did some crawling, climbing and stuff, but you could totally lose a kid there quick. That said, it was awesome!
Let's see, what else did I want to post? The night before last I fell asleep on the couch and ended up sleeping there all night. Justice came and snuggled with me on the couch sometime in the night. When I was getting ready to get up in the morning, Justice woke up and said "Snuggle more Mommy, snuggle more." It was so sweet, how could I not.
Oh, big news: Justice finally pooped in the toilet!!! I think I've got that one potty trained at last! HOORAY!!!
Clayton has been cracking me up. He a busy little guy. He won't take a bottle, so he's still breast fed (along with baby food). However, he often doesn't seem to want to quit playing long enough to breast feed. He keeps trying to stand up and eat at the same time. I think he wants me to just follow him around the house while he eats. It's funny.

They Said It Couldn't Be Done!

Yes, it's true. My brother, Trent can lick his own elbow! (I'm gonna miss that kid here in a few months when he goes on a mission!)
