To Make Liz Smile

Currently John is out house shopping. Liz is at home recuperating, because she's been deathly ill. I've got their children Erik & Jonni for the day. The kids were playing, and I was making a lot of noise on my piano. (I often have noise wars with my own children. I play the piano loud, (I happened upon a steal on a wonderful, old, baby grand piano early on in our marriage, before we had the sense not to just spend our money. It is my absolute favorite material possession. I'd sooner get rid of my wedding ring than my piano. I can still be married without a ring. Anyway, it can get really loud.) while they are watching TV in the next room. They can't hear the TV over my piano, so they turn it up REALLY loud. In fact sometimes they turn it up so loud that I have to play louder to drown them out.) ANYWAY... We aren't currently having one of those wars. Most of my children are at school right now. I was just playing, and Jonni brought me up a note that made me laugh. Here it is:

  1. lol!! that's funny. she's been into making signs lately. it's not unusual to find a sign, oh say on a cabinet that is telling you, in jonni spelling, to please shut the cabinet door when you are done. stuff like that. silly girl!! hope you guys are enjoying my kids! feel free to beat them if they are bad, and kiss them if they are good!

  9. "I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful." Other than feeling like a big blob with a bunch of nasty veins, I feel great. No real complaints. Things are going well, and I'm just counting the days till I can start running again. Right now I'm sitting here totally bored. My father-in-law picked my three oldest up from school, and is keeping them for the night. So I managed to wriggle out of watching Blaine and Dax, my usual extra children, for the afternoon. My piano teacher got sick and cancelled on me. I'm waiting for Justice to get up from a nap. I should be doing something really constructive with all of this free time, but I find that I'm bored. Isn't that funny. I finally get some time to myself, and I don't even know what to do with it?

  11. try having DAYS of free time! talk about bored! i've read (are you ready?) five narnia books, and watched five movies, and done lots of finacial yuck for our new house. yeah, bored for sure. thank heavens for choir practice tonight! (which i begged my doctor for, and he graciously is allowing me to do. but only if i don't let anybody breathe on me;))

  12. SO jealous of the piano. Someday I will have a piano- it may be too much to hope that I can get a baby grand though...

  14. Hey Nae,

How long did the boredom last? Do ya'll have a name picked out for the new baby?

  15. Nothing certain. Bruce really wants to name the child Wesley. He likes the name, I'm not super crazy about it. I just think he likes the idea of not having to think about it any more, more than anything. Myself, I REALLY would like to name him after Thomas S. Monson. I don't know why, except that he's about the greatest guy in the world. But, I can't really explain it, I've never had such strong feelings for any other of our church leaders. Horkey? maybe. It'll take some convincing to get Bruce to go along with it though, so we'll see. The middle name is definitely going to be Harlan this time (now that we got that Norman thing out of the way). So, what's your vote:

    1) Wesley Harlan
    2) Thomas Harlan
    3) Spencer Harlan
    4) Monson Harlan

  16. Thomas Harlan or Spencer Harlan are my favs. I'm glad that you're finally getting Harlan in there. You've been trying for years!

  17. I vote Monson Harlan. It sounds so distinguished.

  18. also a very nice choice... You've got a tough decision ahead Renae.

  19. do i get to vote? of course i do. i like spencer the best, followed by thomas, and wesley is just marginally ahead of monson by a bit. so, since i'm the best and the smartest, i think your decision is now clear. your welcome.
